About The Owner
My name is McKenzie Pehl and I am the Founder and Owner of The Cabana Hair Salon located in Mount Pleasant, SC. I attended Paul Mitchell the School of Cosmetology in 2019. Once I graduated I was determined to open my own salon. These past few years behind the chair have been amazing! I love elevating my clients’ confidence through beauty to create a look that compliments their overall appearance and makes them feel special.
I have continued my education to stay on point with current trends. I am a certified extension specialist through BellHaven Hair Extensions as well as HaloCouture. I belong to Behind The Chair higher learning and watch tutorials daily. My attention to detail and hours of practice have me thirsting for more knowledge to create the perfect color, perfect cut, and the perfect head. No matter the profession, the learning never stops!

September 2021 - Today
The Cabana is Born
September 9th of 2021 McKenzie opened her salon, The Cabana. From the moment she started school she knew she wanted her salon. McKenzie didn’t know how she was going to get there, but she was determined to make it happen. Being behind the chair is her true passion, and she is so grateful to have celebrated many years of operation.
February 2020 - December 2020
Hands-On Experience
McKenzie assisted at a boutique salon while in school to help better her craft and truly see the industry for what it is. She learned an immense amount that carried over into how she runs her business today.
August 2019 - August 2020
Paul Mitchell Graduate
McKenzie started her 11-month journey at Paul Mitchell in August of 2019. Her process started all so smoothly. Along the way she was hit with several obstacles from hurricanes to the pandemic, however, she was determined to make her dream of completion happen... and she did.
January 2019
The Journey Begins
McKenzie was accepted into Paul Mitchell the School Charleston. This is exactly where she knew she wanted to attend cosmetology school. Paul Mitchell is one of the top cosmetology schools in the world, and she knew she would flourish under their guidance.
